They have this flower arrangment foam that you can soak with water and stick the flowers in to keep them alive, if you made those into caves how safe do you think they would be?

umm are they made to be soaked in water 24/7? if not, i woudl be worried about chemicals and the thing falling apart and poisoning fish :/

Aquarium sealant works great. form the foam to the shape you want, then gently heat it with a hairdrier to make it smooth, then spread the sealant.

I did this it was kewl. I took a 2 liter bottle, Cut off the top from where it stops bein a cone and cut the lid off, covered it in aquarium silicone, rolled it in the color of gravel to match the tank, looks like a mound of gravel :) I also did that with the bottom part of the 2 liter bottle, so I have two caves that look halfway decent for under 11 bucks :). I imagine it would work even better if you were to do that with sand as sand would fill in more of the gaps cause it is smaller grains than gravel :). Hopfully somone else finds this to be a handy trick.

ProtegeRacer hi there,

That sounds like a great idea m8 u could to it in sand for sand tanks, even put a small piece of bog wood or stone on it to fix a plant to it well done m8

A very clever idea, in fact im going to try it myself
