would a Synodontis nigriventris be ok with african cichlids? labs and scofili are in the tank right now. I am having trouble finding synodontis in my area. only one is listed as upside down catfish. thank you.

Nigriventris are about the only syno that shouldn't be in a mbuna tank if it is a "false upside down catfish" it's a synodontis euruptus that would work
A general breakdown of the enire genus in regards to africans is
Synodontis Nigriventris-Not suitable for a african tank
Synodontis Eupterus and Synodontis Nigrita-can be kept with africans and can be kept single
And all others suitable, but requireing groups of four or more

Cuckoo Synodontis would work, they're nice. Here is a link to a pic

Common Plec works (That's what we got)

Upside-Down Catfish would not, shame because they're sooo cool!

Hope this helps
