Catfish Likes To Hide

I got a catfish for my tank a few days ago, and he loves to hide in a castle we have. He was in there so much that I thought maybe he was stuck in there. The catfish have some kind of barbs or something on their fins - even poked a whole in a bag at the fish store!

Anyway, I took the castle out, what a time getting the fish out of it. I really like the castle though. Do I need to be concerned about the catfish being stuck inside, I would like to put the castle back, but thought I would ask. I don't remember the exact name of the fish. It is about 4" long.

is it in there day and night? i think some catfish are nocturnal creatures and we don't tend to see them during the day as they hide away.What is it doing now you took the casle out??

No i shouldnt think so they wont go in anywhere where they can't get out of.

Thanks for the advice, I put the castle back inside the tank.

Maybe someone can help with another noob question of mine. The catfish is almost always hiding when I feed the other fish. I don't see him eat anything. If he comes out at night trying to scavange for food, I don't know if he is really going to find much. Should I be concerned that he is not eating?
