So, I've recently decided to try to grow some plants and, though I was looking for Aponogeton bulbs, I instead found Nymphea lilies so I went ahead and bought those. The bulbs have been in for a couple days now and I've noticed my otocinclus catfish seem to be eating the outershells, the hairy part? Should I be worried and take them out of my tank or just leave them? They cats seem to be focusing on one or two bulbs and the smaller ones over the others. Any advice? I don't have a spare tank but I have some mason jars I can put them in for a little bit.

Most likely they are eating thin layer of algae/micro-organisms rather than the plant.
