2morrow i want 2 remove my tiger barbs out of my 30 gal. is there an easier way than stripping down my tank? please there has 2 b an easier way. i dont wanna b chasing these guys for 45 mins or nuthing crazy like that.

feed-back please

Tonight I changed my barb tank over to sand, so I had to catch 5 of them in a 35 gallon :)

What I suggest you do is leave the lights off and cover the tank with towels so the fish all go to sleep. As soon as you are ready to remove them, uncover the tank and net them, they should still be sleeping or just waking up, either way they'll be a lot easier to catch.

Good luck,

awsome :) thanx 4 that input, imma have 2 try that 2morrow. i realllllly hope it works.

The only way you're gonna catch them is by using two LARGE nets and scaring them towards one net with the other one. Don't try to pin them up against a wall with the net... scoop them up towards the surface of the water. Also, don't worry about catching other fish in the net with them. You can always scoop those out later. This method worked really well when I was trying to catch my danios.

if all else fails lower the water level to 3" or so.
good luck

i had to do all of the above-mentioned things when catching 6 tiger barbs a few weeks ago....empted out all the fake plants (left the structures) ...turned out the lights an hour before....emptied half of the tank (46 gallon tank)....then used 2- 8" nets to catch them...any net smaller than 6" or so is useless for tbarbs IMO lol

My Tigers are so eager to see me or eat they usually swim straight into the net in a nice big shoal... the easiest fish to catch, if not the most intelligent.
