im moving a pair of my convicts... but i cant catch a male... any tips lol.. i tried feedin them and tryin to get em fast but didnt work.... thought sum1 might have some smart way of catchin em lol

i got him finally... i pissed him off a lot... i tapped the glass where he was and he came out... and i cornered him...

the pair are loving their tank...

small tank for 2 convicts... but better than the 20 gallon they were in with 2 other pairs of convicts themselves...

they at least have this tank to themselves... the males about 2 inches and female about 1.5 ...

theyd been together for 10 mins, and the female was alrdy chasing the male around tryin to convince him to breed i think... they bred once b4.. and i have 2 fry left... but that was in a 20 gallon tank with 2 other pairs of convicts... so i didnt expect many to survive.. but in their tank to themselves, i dont think i will lose many of the fry

thanks for the replies lol

10 gallon tank

and yes i know im gonna get 20000 complaints but i dont care

my 2 convicts are fine in their 10 gallon tank so..

NO COMPLAINING

:D

mine are.. 1.5 inches and 2 inches.... they have TONS of rooms.. i dont clutter the tank with ornaments blah blah

they have... a rock cave like thingy in the corner, their filter, 2 fake plants, and a big hunk of moss which they put in their cave for some reason :S

most ppl will say 2 cannot live in a 10 gallon.. cause they get to be huge... but it takes years for them to get that big...

they are perfectly fine in it.. if only i could take pics and show u

if you have ever seen predatory cichlids attack you should catch fish the way they do. slowly edge them to a corner, then when backed up quickly hit the glass and pull the net up or just keep going slow but not letting them get passed you. if its a real small fish and theres much trouble i just make a wave of water with the net

hehe. This reminds me when I moved my convicts to their new tank. Three males and two females. I used about a day!! and ended up taking out everything from their old tank before being able to catch them.

yea... theyre not as dumb as other fish.... they know when u feed em and theres a net above the water that ur tryin to catch em... not like guppies... lol

   I have to disagree. I've had my baby female convict for a year now, and she went from 1" to 5" in a matter of a few months.

If it is taking yours years to get big, then you aren't feeding them the proper foods.

either way I am not nagging you about the 10 gallon just wanted to disagree with that statement :)
