I have heard a myth that cat-litter chips contain a type of laterite
and could be used for plants, however I've also heard that it affects
the water quality and pollutes the tank.

Is there any brand which could be used?

Thanks,

Mike

yes there is
petex cat litter is 100% safe.
I used this myself before but only after contacting them first.
they informed me that one of thier biggest customers was a koi farm who use it all the time in their breediing vats.

note when it came time to strip my tank down it was a nightmare to remove from the tank,
I ended up taking it outside and jetwashing the stuff out.

Cool, do you know where you can get this stuff?

I have offically laffed my ass off!
It is rattling around on the ground as we speak!

any half decent pet shop should sell it :good:

Search the APD and Dan Quackenbush.

I've done it for several years, works well.
