Cat Fish And Clown Loach Sick

I live in the UK and was recently given a tank of tropical fish by a neighbour who was moving. I have no idea what to do with them! They were fine for 2 months but now 1 of the cat fish and the clown loach are sick.
cat fish has ugly white-ish scabs with pink/red in middle. Spreading fast.
clown loach has white coating on it and is very lethargic.

tried anti-white spot - didn't work

What should I do?

How often and how much water are you changing, and how do you clean out the filters? How big is the tank? Have you any way of testing the water, either your own tests or your local fish shop?

Try not feeding and do daily 50% water changes for a week. Don't worry, the fish can easily go without food for that long.

Nearly all health problems in fish turn out to be related to poor water quality, so if you can improve that, the fish usually recover very well.
