Hi I am currently setting up a dwarf puffer planted tank. Currently we have lots of big plants (amazon swords, cork screw plant thing, and a few others but I am wanting a plant that will hide the substrate, and not grow very tall at all. lower the better. any advice?

if you have lower lighting, things like moss can be used, java moss is really easy. but if you have higher lighting and c02 then something like p.helferi and h.c(cuba) will do nicely.
 
People will be better able to advise if you provide information with regards to your tank size, lighting, fertilisers, co2 etc (or lack thereof!).

EDIT: Although someone far more useful than me seems to have bypassed that whilst I was typing :p
 
Cheers, its a 85l tank with a single 18w original tropical arcadia light. it has a jbl yeast based co2 system....not the best i know!!!! Have just brought some java moss but maybe something else with it?
 
That's pretty low lighting, I doubt you'll have much luck with anything but mosses for carpeting. Expect the growth to be pretty slow too.
