i purchased a platy a couple of days ago, thinking it was big and looked cool. It was pregnant. The tank was not prepared for them, after birth, a few died and are buried in the gravel. The tank is a 1.5 gallon, it has not filter. There is about 15 platy fry left, and I'm scared they will die. The tank is almost too small to clean, and to remove the dead babies.... i need to know what's best. They are only 2 days old. THANKS:)

You have to clean the dead babies out because in a bowl that small, the water will get contaminated very fast and everything will die. If you want platy, they need at least a 10 gallon tank, anything smaller is inappropriate for fish. Option 1-get a bigger tank. Option 2- re-home the fish. Option 3-do daily 50% water changes on the 1.5 gallon, get the dead fish out, wait until the babies grow a bit bigger and then follow option 1 or 2.

Good luck
