Some rules you should follow when having fish:

Do not use tap water to keep your fish in, Tap water contains Chlorine which effects the fish. Go to your local fish shop and purchase
1 lirte of special water which contains minerals good enough for your fish.

When you go to change your fishes tank water, do not add the mineral water straight away, as it is not the same tempurature as the
water in the tank. The fish would suffer a big shock.
The fish man from the fish shop said That's it's just like us walking out from a warm building and going out in the freezing cold. -20'c.

If you have alot of fish in your tank, and you come to feed them, do not think that you need to add more food to feed all of them,
they can live without food for more than a week!

Hope this helps!

It dosent.

1) Tap water is fine when treated with dechlor.

2) Routine water changes do not have to be temp matched. I change 20% a week without matching and the temp variation is 1 degree C. For large water changes (60%) then yes, it would be best to temp match, but you should not need to do a water change that big unless it really is essential to your fishes health.

2) You should feed enough so that it is consumed within 2 minutes of being placed in the tank.

Well, as i said again, the fish store tell me to do all those stuff.
I've learnt not to listen to the people,
They just try to sell stuff to you!

Out of interest which area are you from in the UK? And a rough guide as to the LFS whereabouts, so we can avoid the place :)
