Beautiful pic ! and not just a mass of washed out blur :) remind me what camera you use again ? I saw a link you had a while ago - the link has obviously expired at whichever shop it was.

ok that's three times I've looked at this thread and all 3 times there is no picture
not even a red X

(I'm beginning to think this is a conspiracy:sly: )

 it is there Wolf! Not a conspiracy, honest!

Nice photo Jimbooo. I love cardinals :) I got 9 of my own now :) but I just get blurs. They swim too fast and I dont know how to use my camera. Need a fast shutter I guess.

still not there
nothing
not a jot
an itoa
zilch
nowt
:grr:

That looks great, what's the mossy low growing plant at the bottom ( and where do you get it )? :D

it's called riccia. I don't know if its fluitans or dwarf. Jimbooo will tell you. How can you tell the difference jimbooo?

*Suprised no one has used this smily yet*
:kewlpics:

thanks for the smily ethos!!

as to riccia it's both :hyper:

look at the bottom cardinal, the one facing you, his nose is pointing at Riccia Fluitians, the clump to the right (his left) is dwarf riccia.

you cant see much difference in the pic. both plants as you know are made up of small individual strands which make up the mossy structure (lots of bits tangled and entwined together)

a strand of fluitians is about 2 inches long with 2 or 3 branches. hence when it grows it looks like a garden lawn. Dwarf is more like a snowflake structure, more round rather than long. hence dwarf grows into a bush/hedge rather than a lawn.

hard to describe but does that make sence?
