Cardinal Tetras Losing Colour

Not sure if there is something wrong or not, but the cardinal tetras seem to be losing the red streak on them. It's going clear... although their blue streak is as vivid as usual. There's been nothing changed in the tank, so can't see how they'd be stressed. And tested the water again, everything is perfect today. They don't seem agitated and are looking pretty much the same otherwise..

any ideas?

Oh.. could a pair of pregnant guppies be of any cause to discolouration? i shouldn't think so..

Hmm... I've just read that it could be a lack of companionship.. there's 3 of em in there, is more needed?

Cardinal Tetras are best kept in groups of 6 or more so it might be worth adding a few more and see if that helps.

How long have they been in the tank as a trio?

They've been in there for a few months now.

Well, the tetras are shooting about in a nice school now! I got another 3 to join them, and they seem fine. Can only see a couple of small dull spots of colour on them now.

Great news! Just keep a close eye on them but hopefully you've solved the problem.
