Cardinal Tetras Have Finrot

Hi everyone, yesterday my dad came home super early from work and went down to the lfs to get finrot medicine, I didnt ask him too but he seemed adamant that we should use it after all his effort!!! Its called "King British Finrot and Fungus control". Its not exactly what i would have bought but...

Anyway I was just wondering if there is a limit to the time you should spend medicating fish, how long it usually takes to clear up the symptoms and if you should continue medicating after the symptoms dissapear. Its active ingredient is 2-Phenoxyethanol (don't know if that helps or not!). It says to medicate every 24 hours until symptoms dissapear, does this mean i stop with the water changes?

The fish themselves are not doing much better but the fins are being damaged more slowly and there is less white stuff over them. The pH, ammonia and nitrAtes/nitrItes are the same as before but i noticed this morning that the water was very slighty more clouldy than usual (normally its crystal clear).

Any info on what to do is welcome
