One of my Cardinal Tetra has left the pack and has been sitting still next to the filter for two days now nearly verticaly! Non of the others are doing this, nore have any ever done this in the past.

I've fed yesterday and today, with different foods and he shows no intrest.

Any idea why hes doing this? Or could it be too many reasons. The colour in him doesnt look too good compaired to the rest.

IMO I don't think he has long left if hes been like it for two days now .

I've tested the water yesterday and today, with the same results... nothings wrong there

I think these things happen sometimes. I've had this happen with neon tetras. All seems fine, then one is by himself and next thing is stuck to the filter intake. I think that sometimes with these smaller fish... well actually any fish species in the hobby... there are just weaker ones that would have died long before if they were in the wild. I think all you can do is check the stats, look for obvious signs of disease and increase your water change schedule.

Sorry, that was sort of a dismal post huh?

Good luck

I agree with karin, you could be doing all the right things and have perfect water stats but the fish may have been damaged from the LFS already or poor breeding, etc. I think when the responsible fish owner loses a fish we're quite hard on ourselves because we think we've dropped the ball somehow when the fish wouldn't have made it anyway. You'll know if you have a problem if the others start to go downhill. Hopefully that won't be the case. It's probably just natural selection.
