I can't relly get a picture coz they're so fast, but one of my cardinal tetra has had a sunken belly for a while. It was eating fine so i've just been keeping an eye on it, unfortunately now it has developed a small lump on it's belly and a pale patch on it's back.

Now my only hospital tank has fry in at the moment so i can't put it in there... would it be best just for me to put this poor tetra down in order to stop the fungal infection spreading through the tank? I do have an anti-fungal treatment, but i'm reluctant to treat the whole tank unless it is absolutely needed.

please advise as i'm really unsure :/

Please read how to post to this section. Really need more information. The directions are at the top of this section.

That being said, sunken belly is usually a sign of internal parasites. The fading area on the back of this fish makes me think of neon tetra disease. Does not sound good though. This may be drastic to some but I would euthanize if this has been going on for a while. Then I would watch the tank very carefully for other signs of internal parasites.

i would think a multicure treatment throu your main tank as tetra diseases spread fast! :)
