Ok I'm not sure why this has happened / been happening.

I've found a couple of dead cardinals lately in my discus/angel tank. I have no idea why now but I just witnessed the angels and discus picking one off and assulting it.

Why is it so? The only reason I spotted this is I noticed one cardinal swimming very oddly, then noticed it was missing an eye!

I don't know why this is happening whether it's boredom or what? They're well fed.

Any ideas? I thought cardinals were born to thrive with discus etc.!

I'm not an expert with experience in Angels, but even my Platies attacked and ate my Neons when i introduced them.

I figured its a size thing, if they are small enough to get in their mouth, they consider them food. Fish are opportunist feeders and at any size will try to eat small enough fish, fry etc. As a fisherman i have experienced this when using a Lure, imitating a small fish in distress, often catching fish that are not supposed to be predatory.

My friend has an Angel tank, and over the course of a dew months all the Neons he introduced 'vanished'

Just a thought :good:

Son's of guns. So it's impossible to have a shoaling tetra with angels or discus?

Fish will attack sick fish.
Also angels hunt neon tetra's in the wild. They do resemble neon tetra quite abit.

I would isolate the cardinals if you can.
