Cardinal Loner

So I bought 4 cardinals a few weeks back, but ever since I got them, they shoal as 3 together, and 1 on it's own.
They all look so similar I can't tell if it's the same one each time, but they all look healthy and active.
I intend to get more cardinals once my other tank is ready, so that may sort things out. I just wondered if anyone had any ideas as to this odd behaviour?

Sometimes, a loner is not well...is there any sign of injury or illness? Cardinals do like to be in schools of at least six, so that may help.

Nope, all seems well at the moment. I'll just wait until I get some friends for them then
