Carbon Filter Question

Can anyone tell me how long does it take for a carbon filter to remove traces of medication?

Not long if you are also doing water changes, which you should be.

Would 2 - 3 hours be enough, have done water change as well?

Depends on how fresh the carbon is. It has a very short half-life and stops working pretty quick. If its fresh carbon, I'd give it at least a couple of days before I'd consider the medicine removed.
