Carbo Plus

I have heard that it works, but its very big, looks well ugly and will react with the tank water, not a good idea in my book. For the same money (or less) you could get a pressurised system, that would be far more reliable and discrete in the tank :)

I did some reading about it. It seems to me that people who have pressurised CO2 are against it but many who have tried it, they like it. In my market it sells at a similar price as a pressurised system, a little lower, but the refills of tanks for the pressurised are very expensive compared to bying a new block for this device. Here people are swiching from pressurised to this device. I think I will try it in my new Rio 400.

OIJ I think this will only work if your KH is quite good, it works on electrolysis which will strip your KH from the water, so if your KH is low to begin with this probably is not the system for you. I would honestly invest in a pressurised setup over this anyday. Have you investigated the use of CO2 fire extinguishers as a source of CO2, a 5kg fire extinguisher will long quite some time on most setups if used in conjunction with a solenoid.

I use fire extinguishers on all my setups as a source of CO2.

Yes, Zig, I know about the Kh. Mine is high, your is low i believe :) I will follow all relevant parameters. I tried it first in a 240 liter tank and the Ph dropped to 4.5 in two days, I set it too high in the beginning.

The Juwel 400 is up and running and the Carbon plus unit also.

I have way too many thumbs and too little time to follow your directions on making a pressurised setup. A nice idea but not for me.
