Hi all,

Just really want to know your opinions on the above system. I'm really trying to find out if the Carbo Plus ( the carbon block job) is any good, and if anybody out there uses it? I'm looking at the two to replace my diy co2 for my new micro planted tank, and possibly for my main tank too.

They are both £90. So whats the best at that price. The Gas Co2 that I'm comparing it to is a D+D 600 grm kit with all the bits and bobs, bubble counter, ceramic diffuser and regulators and so on.

Opinions please :D

I've never used one, but I've only heard bad things about it. Apparently the electrolysis causes some kind of build up of hard stuff on the block, and eventually you have to keep replacing the actual unit and not just the block. Also, I hear that it doesn't produce nearly enough CO2. Check out some other planted tank forums that I can't provide a link to here, and do a search for 'carbo plus'

Go for the pressurised co2, there are to many negative features on the carbo plus for me to even bother trying to explain them all other than say it would be a waste of money and probably a decision you would regret.

Wahay!

Just what this forum is fantastic for! Thank you both very much. I have ordered the gas Co2.

Cheers,

It's a shame that the carbo-plus isn't effective. It's a really great idea on paper. Just a shame that it has too many drawbacks to be worth it. Maybe someone will expand on the idea and make an effective functioning one in the future.
