just got back from lfs andafter chatting with the owner for awhile we started talking about clownfish and how they are captive bred and he mentioned they will not host nems. is this a fact or opinion. is it absolute or maybe like 50%? he made it sound like they absolutly will not do it. just wondering if anyone knows for sure or simply has some captives...whats going on with them.
i tend to not believe him on this one.

I would have to disagree, mabye not as likely as a wild caught but they still will, I have an oscelaris and he hosts a fox coral in my tank

Agreed. They host less-often than their wild-caught counterparts, but they do not cease to host completely. Do remember tough that some species of clowns host more-often and in more varied hosts than others. Ocellaris seem to do the least hosting, followed by Percula clowns. The guys that do the most are Clarkii's and Skunks in my experience and reading.
