Capsicum/pepper/chilli

Hi All,

A rather random question:

Does Capsicum/Pepper/Chilli affect fish in an aquarium? the reason I ask is that I've been a bit stupid. I was chopping peppers/chilli for a meal, and washed my hands after, but not as thoroughly has I shuold have (I felt burning sensation on a finger)... I did a water quality test before I realised I still had residue on my fingers.

Water quality was tip-top, but I may have added a trace of chilli to it!

what size is the tank? The reason I ask, is the larger the water volumne the more diluted it would be.

I would imagine if you'd washed your hands before, then it should be ok, but if the fish show any signs of distress, then do a 50% water change to dilute it further.

tank is 200litre.

Fish are showing no sign of distress.

Will keep an eye on things
