Can i get too really really small convicts and put them in a 8g tank, not for life time, just untill arfter xmas, then they will be going into a 28g for life time..

can i do this?

I would do it only if you are sure you are getting the tank. Cons are a very common cichlid, it would be better to wait if at all possible.

I start angels in a smaller tank, I have 250-300 in a 10 gallon, they are 2 weeks old. I have 280 in a 29 that are 4 weeks old. I also have plenty more tank space & buyers for these fish. My oscar is in a 72 gallon, he started out as a 1" fish in a 10 gallon quar tank, and moved to a 20, a 30, then the 72.

they have a rare albino ones and they never get them in as there hard to get round here, i know for sure im getting it

there is a link to someone who kept them in a 5 gal. i think it might've been someone trying to start something on the forum as there hasnt been anything said on it since.

8 gal would be alright in my opinion to keep them in no matter what the size of the fish you get as long as you transfer them right after xmas. like said, be sure that you can get the tank before buying them, but i say you should be alright.

good luck and hope to see pics of them :D

edit: btw, where are you from? i see the "albino" or pink comns all the time, its more rare to see the striped ones here... jsut curious if there's a trend based off location... i think too much
