I have a pair of Albino kribensis. The female is around 3 inches, the male around 5 inches. I have had them for months now, and they wont breed. The female dosent ever seem to be full of eggs. She will shake and show off to the male, and the male dosent really seem interested. Theyare in my 20g with 1 mollie, 2 swords, 2 guppies, and 1 golly. The decorations are, 1 flower pot, 1 pvc pipe, 1 amazon swordplant, 5 grassy plants. The gravel is small, so they can build a nest, but i have no results. I acnt figure it out. This isnt the first pair in the last 8 months that i have had problems with. They flirt, but nothing happens. I have done 50% water changes, feed them high quality foods to encourage them and nothing has worked. Anyone have any idea's of whats wrong, or what i can do to fix this problem?

Why do you assume its a problem that needs fixing? It simply could be they dont like each other enough to breed!

I meant that there could somthing wrong in the tank that could need fixing. I would think they like eachother enough of they wouldnt have paired off, if theyu havent then i dont know why they arent fighting.

Ive had Kribs before that wouldnt spawn, but happily shared a tank for years.

I am going to do a trade in at the lfs for store credit and get some jewel's( i think) casue they are easier to breed. The only reason is becasue i need somthing that i can make money off of so i can have money to take care of my fish. I am not old enough to have a job, so when i do get a job, the first fish i get will be kribs cause i love em so much.

Might i suggest if you want to make money from your fish you breed something that there isnt a glut of currently?

Killies for example, Cory's, Small Plecs etc....Dwarf Puffers........these fish are becoming very popular but are still mostly taken straight from the wild. If you can get some of them breeding regularly you would turn a tidy profit :)

Juwels, Kribs, Convicts, Firemouth etc have been bred and bred in tanks for years and are rather crap becuase of it. The same can be said about the Blue Acara, which now should be named the greayish dull Acara.

Just a thought.

I sold the kribs, and some cons, and i got 2 jewel's and i albino cory( also some crickets). The guy i know there is the head of thefish department and the other guy i know there is the day time manager, so they said if i ever have any babies they will buy them off of me. So no worries. I dont get killies casue breeding them is a hassle. Corries i dont even know how to sex them adn the ones at the store are tiny, Pleco's are too hard( though i know a breeder i could get a proven pair off of, and i dont think they sell very many dwarf puffers. I just found out the thanks to talking to the head fish guy( my friend) that he quit buying dyed fish( he dosent like them anyway).
