ok, i work at walmart, and i help out with the fish tanks alot. a man came in about 4 months ago and dropped off a fish who had been eating all his other fish. we couldnt keep the fish at the store so i took him home. i had no other choice but to put him in with my other fish until i could set up a tank for just him. he ended up killing my parrot fish before i could set up another tank. big mistake on my part, i know.

i have looked in fish books all over, i have taken pictures of him to aquarium stores within a 100 miles of me and no one knows what he is. as far as i can guess, he looks like he might be a type of goby. im probably wrong.

if anyone can help identify him i would be very thankful. i would like to get another one of him once i find out what he is.

I'm going to say it could be a Purple spotted Gudeon (Mogurnda adspersa). Grows to around 6" and is predatory, so if the parrot fish was small I could understand it being eaten if the gudeon was large. Looks a lot like Morgurnda morgurnda (so might even be that, info is correct for both fish).
