Cant Decide Which To Have

Corydoras or Otto’s, assassin snails or MTS? I have a sand base and want good cleaning fish and snails, can they be mixed? i.e. a couple of each? Or will the assassin eat the MTS

64ltr, 6? guppies, 3shrimp, and a centrepiece fish (havent decided which yet)

Thanks, the otto are my fave but hubby likes the corydoras, typical lol, so just 1 assassin snail?

Just checked, your tank is not mature. Therefore, I'd recommend you do this:
4 Amano Shrimp
8 Pygmy Cory

Assassin snails will kill any snail they come across & actively hunt them down in the tank so an MTS in there wont last long.
Also an MTS will breed even if you just put one in the tank whereas a single Assassin snail wont.

Otos are nice little fish. Corys are lovely but really need a group of 6 or more to be happy so I would probably go with the Otos.


Assassin snails like to burrow in the substrate so will help with turning over your sand for you. The Otos will eat some algea but not all of it so you will still need to keep up wih tank cleaning.

I am not getting any fish until after May, but the tank has been running for over a year with this current filter, just fishless for two days, still with filter running in the water, so I asume Mature? Just changing it all from small gravel to sand and planted
