Cant Believe This!

hehe

thanks guys! Hopefully the little guys will be free swimming tomorrow! dad needs a rest!

Looks like he's doing a great job so far :good: How is Mum doing?

Thank you Netty I am calmer your right, partly because they did all the planning so I dont feel so responsible!!! They must have really liked each other last time, or Gem really liked Sam! I didnt realise they could just spawn so quickly to be fair I have been feeding them up so they could recoup after last time. ( just in case anyone is reading this thinking its that easy! its not, this is purely a lucky by chance senario breeding and pairing bettas is hard and needs research)
 ur certainly an asset to our community with that last statement.

What a lucky bout... and a fortunate one too.

That is AWESOME! i've sure i wont have to ask for you to keep us informed

Ok so now Im heartbroken, woke up this morning about to take Sam out and all the babies are gone, he must have got tired over night and eaten them, this is my second failed spawn with him and I really had my hopes up this time.

Oh huni, I'm so so sorry to hear that. Are you 100% sure there are no free swimmers hiding anywhere? xx

no he hasnt there were like 100 and the nest has gone and so have they I was due to take him out this morning, perhaps I left it too late I have been scouring the tank for hours and have seen 1 fry :-(

How do I save the one fry though? leave him in the big tank or put it in a smaller container where I can keep an eye on it?

I have no experience with breeding as yet, however, if the fry is free swimming and I had to make the decision myself, I would put it in a smaller container x

I cant see it now so perhaps thats the end of it! have checked a good few times and cant see anything

have you got tank lights on? try shining a lamp at the tank too, makes it much easier to see fry :)

You could float the fry (if you find it!) in a small container in the tank and then when he is too big to slip through holes, pop a breeding net into the tank for him/her to live in!
