So, I decided to clean out one of my canister filters yesterday for some reason when I got home from work. As I took out the media trays, I say a tiny tiny fry. After I let the muck settle, I saw 6 more. 7 baby platies! :)

I put them into my 2.5 hospital yesterday. One of them died - it never really swam, just kind of shimmied on the ground. Cool.

So, I decided to check my horde of other canister filters on other tanks and found a 3/4" dead swordtail :( The little guy survived for a long long time in that canister. Makes me very very sad to think about it's life, though. I'll never go that long between cleanings again because of it, though.

So, today I decide that I would check again, and again, the magic filter gave me two more platy babies.

WOW wish i had one of those magic canister filters, save me buying them from lfs
what a nice suprize, try putting sponge over filter intake, it stops the fry getting sucked in.
Good luck with babies Angel

Since I took a liking to angelfish, I have at least one in every tank. Angels are like fry vacuums. I wouldn't have had any left if not for the filter sucking them up :)

yep Angels love fry, at least you found them in time, its been along time since i had fry, had some bristlenose fry that got sucked into the back of an internal power filter once, it is cool when you discover them though
