Okay everyone has been so nice to suggest filters for me. I was ready to purchase either the eheim classic 2217, Pro II 2028 or the Pro III 2080 then my LFS suggested the marineland 360. AHHH, more choices, can anyone help?

Marineland aren't bad HOB filters but if you need power and/or a large quantity of water run through a filter adequately, then nothing short of a sump filter is better than a cannister and you only need sumps on really big tanks. Cannisters are good for medium to moderately large aquariums. What size tank do you have?

I have a 65 and am looking for a canister filter, all the ones I am looking at are canister

I don't think I've seen a Marineland cannister. I didn't know they made them. IMO though, Eheim is good.

Check out the Rena Filstar (AP) xP line. They are good filters. With a tank that size you may be wise to use 2 smaller filters for the peace of mind if one should pack up. You can also stagger the cleaning of the filters so that you do NOT risk decimation of the bio filter. Also, you have greater media flexibility.
