Does it matter where in the tank you put the input/output valves for a canister filter? I have a 65 gallon and I just got a new canister and I put it in the middle.

Also my myaca and rotella is leaning in towards the valves, and my plants are swaying a bit, anyway I can stop that?

The canister filter pumps 360 gph and my tank is a heavily planted and stocked 65 gallon.

Thanks.

to get the maximum water current in the tank
place the input at one end and the output at the opposite end

If the current from the water doesn't press against them it should unless they're dropping for another reason unrelaated to the current. If the current from the outflow is causing a problem, you can reduce it by adding some kind of diffuser to the end of the outflow so the water is spread out more and reduces the strength of the current.
