I have been using frozen food ocasionally in the last few weeks. The price dosent seem to work out any more than flakes plus the occasional live daphnia.

If you use a good mix (ie Daphnia/Cyclops/Bloodworm/White & Black Mosquito Larvae, Brine Shrimp) can you feed the fish (mainly danios) exclusively on frozen food?

A diet too rich in protein & fats will tend to cause bloating & constipation. Some vegitation is required and most flakes provide this.

I agree you need flakes as they contain everything the fish needs,to much protein can be a bad thing as well as a good thing.

In the wild fish will eat little and often but a lot of their diet is made up of plant matter and they can go several days without meaty foods which are more difficult to come across. Fish like danios are omnivorous and should not be fed on a purely carnivorous diet as they can develop serious health problems. I would stick to feeding a wide variety of foods.

Only if your fish requires it, I would think, these include things like puffers, pirhanas, and I think some cichlids (not too sure on this one...! lol). So yeah, I'd be careful!

I use a frozen food from my lfs that is called green and is made up of spirulina (spelling?) and spinach. I feed once a day alternating blood worm/brine shrimp/green/tropical fish mix/chiclid mix/flake/granules (first five are frozen) and i also put in some sinking algae tabs/pellets but only every other day. I am prolly over feeding a bit but it all gets eaten and have no water/algae probs.
