We currently have:

a 10 gallon guppy tank with a pleco. This was our first tank ever and we have had it for a year. We did not know about the pleco and were not informed by our LFS that he would grow so large. (common pleco!)

a 55 gallon with numerous Malawi Cichlids. We've had it running about 3 months and fish in it for about 4 weeks.

a new 135 gallon that is not set up yet. This will be the future home of the pleco which currently measures about 7 inches. We aren't sure what we will house with him yet. We are in no hurry and plan to do plenty of research! We really like the Black Ghost Knife....but who knows, there are so many options!
My question is.....I'm looking at filters for the 135 gallon. Has anyone seen or used this FILTER I realize I would need 2!
Or what would you recommend? It does not have to be a canister. Our other tanks have HOB filters that I have been quite happy with.
Thank you in advance!!

I have those filters and I think they're very good. The build quality isn't the highest (what do you expect at that price though?!), but I don't find that a problem; you just have to be gentle with them and don't force things or push them too hard; a little wiggle is better ;)

What are the dimensions of your 135g?

It's 6ft x 2ft x 18"

It was a preowned tank that was custom built.
Yes.....I about fell over when I saw the price of those filters on ebay. I think I may give them a try!

I have one in 75G there is not a chance i would get another for a tank that big. They are SUNSUN filters and cant get anywhere near the GPH on the box, the 2000GPH can bearly do 1000GPH with media in. I would get a fluval fx5 for that sort of tank

Aww-ha! I really was expecting a reply like this. Usually if it sounds too good it is right? I'll check out the fluval fx5. Thanks!

Fluttermoth, what size tank are you filtering?

Dont get me wrong the filter itself is decent, the pipe work with it is really poor. I replaced it with Tetratec EX1200 and the water was much clearer even though i never had water stat problem with any of them. My sunsun filter (the company who makes most of the cheap filters) is filtering out my 70L(15G) tank and it doing a great job just about right :good:

I will be running one of these on a 300 liter tank (the HW-304, listed as 2000 liters/hour), hope I get similar results to you fluttermoth
