I have had a flame angel in my reef tank for a year he's still a juvenile and I have fell in love with a coral beauty my question is could I introduce the coral beauty into the aquarium ps I am getting rid of my yellow tang and my 2 captive bred common clowns there a nusience they host my corals and kill them And I am thinking about the tang future he will get 2 big for my tank :good:

what size tank is it?

dwarf angesl can be mixed, but you need large tank...something like 75G+ its also best of they go in together.

Any less space and if one is already settled then it could end in trouble

Well it's a 42 gallon but I did mix a bicolour and him together but I got rid of the bicolour because he killed my elegance coral but could I mix a multibanded angel if the coral beauty and the flame arn't compatible also is the multibanded angel reef safe :good:

its a risk what ver dwatrf angel to decide to try and mix, with corals and your flame. Not just the coral beauty

I think I will give the coral beauty a shot

Keep a close eye after introduction for a few days..best to introduce them together at one time but know a few who mixed them. Flames can be very territorial and down right nasty so watch him closely. I left the flame til last in my tank because of this so others would be well settled b4 he arrived. When i added the yellow tang after him he tried it on but met more than his match, why I risked it's later introduction as these can be even nastier,lol...

dodge your tank is full its only a 42gal i would not put anything else in there untill you get a bigger tank

i would not mix the flame/mulitibarr you need a big tank to do so and will just fight to the death its happened to me so not advisable

regards scott

this is your stock i would not add anything else

I have a trigon 190 with 2 common clowns 2 tomato clowns fine together don't worry 2 royal grammas 1 flame angel 1 yellow tang 1 pyjama cardinals 1 banggai cardinal and I might introduce a jawfish into my reef

Scott I am getting rid of my yellow tang ang common clowns so I will have some room I would never add anything else if I didn't have any room :good:

ah new that lol

how much would you like for the y/t pm me

yeh that should be fine dodge but when you get rid of your other fish pick up the flame and rearragne the rocks and give a small water change just so it is like a new enviroment thats the only way my angels settle

regards scott

Thanks Scott but you don't really want my yellow tang because it doesn't gain weight and doesn't eat any sheet algae so that's why I am taking them back to my local
lfs ps my elegance coral died :-(

i think he would be ok he would be going in a big tank with another 8 yellow tangs so i think he would be ok

But I don't think u should add him Scott because mine can be aggressive but my lfs said that they sort of reserved a spot for him and if u want a yellow tang group they must be introduced all at the same time

The way I see it is adding a Coral Beauty is a risk to corals allbeit the least you can get with a dwarf angel.
Adding a Flame is a HIGH risk to the Angels and another risk to corals.

That being said people do get away with keeping them in large numbers and stuff.
