Can You Identify This Fish?

Hi, I'm trying to identify this fish for a friend of mine I've been to several forums and as yet no one has been able to positivley identify it, last replies I recieved suggested it was some type of African Cichlid, any one here know what it is?

Didn't a couple of people say it was a flowerhorn?

I posted the pic over at the flowerhorn site and they said no it wasn't a flowerhorn. Someone suggested that it had the body shape of an African Cichlid so I thought someone in here might be able to help. Quite a few people both here and over at the flowerhorn site have suggested that it may be a Tilapia mariae, are Tilapia a type of Cichlid? I'm just trying to find out as much as I possible can.

Are you sure it's not a flowerhorn? I swear his body shape and even some of the colors look exactly like this flowerhorn...

That's no African.

It looks like a young Cichlasoma trimaculatum that hasn't developed it's hump yet... maybe. How big is it?

Thanks for posting the link to that pic jting001. Certainly looks like thats what he could be, the other pictures I'd seen didn't realy show a high forehead like my friends fish has but that photo looks just like it. I'll take a copy of it and show him next time I go to visit. Thanks for all you help everyone we are realy greatful for all your help and research.
