.....on 2 of my fish half there eye is covered with a cloudy area which is slightly raised from the rest of the eye.

are they poorly or is it just something that is stuck on their eye.

sorry i cant be more specific about what it looks like lol

thanks

Sounds to me like pop eye casued by a bacterial infection.

Are there any other signs of illness?

Fish listless?

Stringy poo?

Any discolouration?

What are the water stats?

Is it the tank in your sig / which fish?

They do not sound well although you may get some better responses if you post in the emergency section. A bit more information will be required in order for us to really help you, if you could answer these questions it would be very helpful.
1. What are your water parameters - nitrite, nitrate, ammonia, temp, PH ect.
2. Other fish in there, last fish put in and when?
3. Are any of the fish showing any signs of stress/illness - swimming funny, marks/splotches/dots anywhere on there body, ect?
4. I know this is a newer set up, when did you finish your cycle, how long did you cycle for? How long have the fish been in the tank?

If you get all these q's answered we will be able to help you a lot more.
Thanks!

EDIT - sorry @om - we were posting at the same time!

Oh dear...can this be treated? if so what do i need?

the fish are a bit lifeless but thats about it

No its a different tank and the poorly fish are an oscar and a tiger shovelnose catfish.

The water seems fine. there is only 3 fish in there. the tank was bought not long ago but it came with the fish so i couldnt let it cycle properly as they needed somewhere to go...but all we did was bag up ALL of the water from the fish tank, then transport the fish tank home and put all the old water back in with a little new water. i thought this was the best thing to do - i dont know if the fish had this eye problem before i got them or after.

Ok, we still need you to answer our questions to the best of your ability. Do you have a water testing kit? How big is the tank these fish are in? Those are some big fish.
IF it came with the fish it is safe to assume it was already cycled - is there a filter, heater, ect in with them?? Also, did you use the same gravel, decor, and plants that were originally in the tank?
If you go to the emergency section, you can read all the "stickies" and there is plenty of info on those about different diseases.

yes i do have a water testing kit (although its only a test strip one and i was told of a better one to get so will be buying that soon)
yes they are big fish - i also have a rtc lol which is another big fish....although at the moment they arnt SO big......and yes i know they will grow huge lol......ive been told millions of times on here and i have a 100 foot garden where my tropical pond will be going lol.

yes they DID come with the tank along with a fluval 304 filter, rena filstar xp3, a juwel heater, a air stone, sand, and bog wood......so im pretty sure the fish have all they need in my aquarium.

ok i'll go to the emergency section.
