Can You Get?

what kind of colour are you looking for?
most tubes have a different hue to them but if you want proper colours like red, blue green etc then you should look at adding cold cathodes.

I remember seeing at my LFS a collection of colored plastic tubes that the fluorescent light would slide in to. It was a very simple concept but I think they were charging way too much for them. I don't remember who made them and haven't seen the display for quite a few years.

i went to a different fish store today and they had their sections colour coded eg. blue=marine purple=tropical it looked sweet :) is that how they do it?

Sylvania aquastar has a little more blue in it and their coralstar is very blue. If you want a cheap option try using the diode type christmas lights. I bought a strand of 80 and folded it up in four foot sections and stuff it under my lamps/over the cover glass to use as moonlight to watch to night life. It does not give that much light but with a few more strands and some mirror backing(alumium foil) it could look really cool. Toss in a strand of red and you get purple lighting. Oh the Thinks you can Think.
