Can You Bleach Hornwort Yes Or No,

I didn't bleach them as I was told not to as they are delicate. I bleach some of my plants because they come loaded with snails and I don't like the type they come with, I don't do it long though so the plants just bounce back.

No it'll turn to mush, I even managed to turn some to mush just by putting it in tap water that was a bit cold.

Ya I didn't and I"m glad, it's not shedding :yahoo: I think it was hornwort that people said grows better in cold water so I stuck some in cold water by the window, room temp as a expierement.

Thanks for the help guys, saved me a trip and 3$(ya I got ripped off)

You can break off a piece or take a stem and dip it in a bleach solution. I bleach dipped some of my plants, I didn't have hornwort) to get rid of algae. I suggest using unscented bleach, since I've heard some people having problems with scented bleach. A safer solution would be to soak the whole plant in PP (Potassium Permanganate). It's safer for plants and kills snails, bugs, etc. and supposedely kills snail eggs. I dip all my plants in PP before placing them in my tanks.
