Can We Get A Betta?

My dad has said he'd like to get a Betta for our 55 gallon community fish tank and I want to make sure there won't be any fighting. We currently have Angel fish, Serpae tetras, Pristella tetras, bleeding heart tetras, Cherry barbs, and a BN Pleco. I also might like to get Phantom tetras and Diamond tetras so want to know if Bettas get along with them too.

IME serapes are to nippy to be in a tank with a betta

Yes there are a few nippy bully's in there so IMO no.
