Can Thunderstorms Harm Fish?

Not that I've ever heard.  In fact, quite the opposite, many species of fish can be triggered to spawn by a combination of a water change and a thunderstorm.

Yes, my corys seemed to like thunderstorms. :)  It usually led to spawning. :p

During an electrical storm my BGK went nuts and died :(

Wow, this is the first I'd ever heard of something like this. I keep much smaller fish though, you know, the food of your BGK.

Very interesting. Bgk use a electric field to navigate dark water right? Maybe the electricity in the air overloaded his field or something.

Unless it causes a power outage.
Haha!

We get a lot of thunderstorms from june til october somedays even lasting for days. From my past observations, my fish were like all in suspended animation but no harm done after. Once the sun shines they're all jumpy again

That is basically what I was told, because the storm was directly overhead and lightning struck the tree in the garden it was the proximity that upset his own electrical field. If the storm has been moving quicker he might not have died :(

I wonder how they cope in nature...
