Well im getting like a 90 gallon tank, and I was wondering, can Pacus, sevurms, convicts, Silver dollars, loaches, Blood parrots, and sharks go together? Also I was wondering if any catfish could go in this set up, and can you recommend some catfish that you think look cool? Also are there any tetras or gouramis that would suit this set up? Please suggest some other fish that can go with this set up.

Thanks
Adam

wow u r mixing fish up so badly I cant tell lol. But again its not suggest to mix fish like this and ur tank ain't going to be enought for even 2 kind of the fish u mention in ur post :).

im sorry but you seem to be very misinformed.

pacus get to be about as big as your 90 gallon.

severums are very very nice though. you could try a pair in a 90. convicts are very aggressive so thats a not too good idea. silver dollars are great fish especially in small schools. most loaches will fit in a 90 except clown loaches so i would say yes on the loaches. blood parrots are pretty aggressive too so if you dont mind them nipping your fish up all the time then thats ok but i would say no. a small shark like an RTBS or ruby shark would be ok but you wont find many species of sharks commonly. silver sharks are common but get too large for a 90 gallon.

for catfish you have many options. the synodontis african species are very nice but are better kept singularly to reduce territory issues. plecos are great and keep your tank algae free but are someties hard to identify. Pimelodus Pictus are great fish. active and bright.

some of the larger gouramis like opalines and 3 spots should be OK.

also check out Surinamensis Geophagus. your in the US so you can get them shipped from liveaquaria. also Uaru are pretty cool fish.

-2 Severums
-3 Silver Dollars
-3 Pim pictus
-1 or 2 bristlenose or other small pleco
-Small loaches. many people like Dojo and Kuhli loaches. they tend to be very elusive though. they just burrow around and you dont see them too often

theres a base for you. if you like the fish on there than you can build off that or you can slim down your list a little and get a list that you like better. Im sorry but Pacus are out of the question unless you have a HUGE pond. like 800-900 gallons +

Good Luck!

well my friend has pacus silver dollers blood parrots and convicts in a 55 gallon, and they have stopped growing.

if that's the case, they're stunted and probably won't last very long.

pacu's get VERY big and aren't ideal aquarium fish
just because you're mate has one doesn't mean you can

well i guess you guys are right. Have you guys got any more suggestions on what fish to put in my 90 gallon?

Thats called stunted growth, and im sure you would get it too if somone confined you in a space so small for your whole life you couldn't even take a step forward when full grown, 'tis very cruel for the fish. Pacu's will get to 3-4ft long and need a 300gal.

Anyways....

I agree with Severum's info  .

Do you know how to cycle a tank :) ?

Try looking at: fishprofiles.com - this may give you a good idea of what semi aggressive fish can go well together, and give you the potential growth sizes.

Also, Rainbow sharks are nice fish.

yes they are. i have a red tailed black shark which is very similiar. theyre very interesting. they do get a little territorial as they get older but it shouldnt be a problem with lots of plants and ornaments. most sharks arent very common.
in a store you may find
-Silver sharks- AKA bala sharks, Tricolor sharks. these guys get pretty big and are skittish
-Rainbow sharks- AKA ruby shark, redfinned shark. get to 6" and get territorial as they get older but they dont do too much damage
-Ret tailed Sharks- similiar to the Ruby shark, only has a red tail with black fins
-Black Shark- it may look like a ruby or redtail shark at first but believe me it wont for long. most likely the most aggressive common shark and it grow up to around 20"

there are other sharks that can be found but they are much rarer and for the most part much too aggressive.

hope this helps. Good luck!
