Ive recently bought an air pum,p and airstone for one of my tanks just to add a bit more effect more than anythingelses but the fish seem to be staying over at the other end of the tank.

Are they just getting used to it or could it stress them and cause problems......maybe they dont like the noise or vibration?

I only put it in yesterday.

How much is it vibrating? It could be you pump rubbing or the stone moving. Also, how vibrant have you got air going through it?

Its not vibrating alot atall, I sit right next to it on the sofa and can only just hear it, its an Airvolution 2 pump, its a small pump for the size of the tank which is another 300ltr tank, it doesnt seem to have anyway of adjusting the pressure although its not exessive. I added it just for effect really, the filter outlet is pointed upwards to oxygenate the water more than enough.

They are going over to it now a bnit more and the pangasius is sitting next to the jug like thing the air is coming out of.

Try reducing the flow to see if your fish prefer that. Another way would be to distribute the bubbles using an air curtain rather than through one stone.
