alright, some of u may know that i am starteing a 10g cory community, its coming along well but i haven't added teh fish yet, im still kind of planning (and waiting for my plants to take root. aside from corys, i want to add some other kind of small fish that can eat dead plant matter, and rotten food. corys will not eat this stuff so i was hopeing there was some kind of small low maintainance fish out there that would. has anyone heard of such a fish?

and also, wen keeping a community of corys (all female) should i keep an odd number or an even number of the fish? or does it not matter?

only snails will eat refuse like that.

and it doesn't matter odd/even with cories--aggression is essentially non-existent with them. but good luck on getting all females (corys are a bit tough to sex, especially when juevenile).

How amny corsy are you gettin, it will prolly be stocked good when the corys are all in their, i would suggest maybe Apple snails (Brigs, not canas as canas will eat plants).

well i had liek 5 ramshorn snails that were keeping my betta tubs clean but teh bettas ate 3 of em so i moved the last 2 to my 20g where they had babys. one of those 2 got eaten by my chinese alge eater so now im stuck with a large adult ramshorn and 5 tiny babys (at last count) these 6 are in teh cory tank right now but ill probably find even more once i get some light on teh 20g tomarrow. i wanted something to eat dead plant matter becasue its always ben a problem for me in the past, and this tank doesn't have a filter (just an air brick that runs along teh back, but i an considering getting a small 5g filter or sumthin to help out, but i know my corys hate a ruff current :/

i have 2 corys now, an albino bronze and a bronze (both female) that iv had for about a year now, but iv been told that in a 10g i could have up to 6-7. id like all females because i dont want males harassing them for sex 24/7 but you r right, they are tuff to sex, all i can do is just take a guess at it :D

don't worry about that  cory cats aren't like livebearers; the males are only interested in mating during the mating season, when the females are too... if i recall, corys egg-scatterers and mate in groups--which means that no one female will ever be "picked on" by the males. instead, the whole group will become prepared for mating and lay eggs in passes across the tank. not an aggressive event. ;)
