I just wanted to know what you all think I should do about buying from liveaquaria.com. I want to buy some guppies from them and they come in pairs for about 4.99. The only problem is that my order needs to be 29.99 or more and I cant order alot of them because I would have way too many for my tanks. What other type of fish do you think I can get to higher the price?

I'd be more tempted to go to the lfs instead. Ours are cheaper than that and won't have the stress of being sent either. And you wouldn't end up buying fish you don't really want!
Hugs,
P.

thats true, but I was looking for red and yellow guppies, but my lfs only have red

Why not ask them if they can get them for you? Most good lfs will do so. If not try ringing around other local fs and see what any can come up with.
Hugs,
P.

You also have to think of the general health of the guppies you're buying too. I assume Liveaquaria's genetic history is a better one than the often inbred and weaker ones you find in most shops.

well I would think so, but I am not sure. Do you think I should send them an email to ask them? Well I dont know they could always say no so I would buy from them

I think it has to $30 worth of fish b/c they ship supplies and plants separately. Unless you live in an area without a single decent LFS or want an especially rare fish, buying from a general online retailer like LiveAquaria really isn't worth it (in my opinion). I suggest you try ordering through your LFS, then check out Aquabid.com if you still aren't satisfied.

I've never ordered fish from them (or from anyone else for that matter). Their prices seem to be very high, especially on plants. I have ordered plants online twice. I compared the same list from them and from the site I got them from and they were almost twice as high. I imagine their fish are the same way and as you mentioned, shipping is a killer, especially if they arrive dead or die shortly thereafter. Most online sites will replace the fish free but you still have to pay shipping again.
