I need to know if mbuna specifically maylandia lombardoi, are still protective after the fry are free swimmming, both the male and female parents i blocked off the little fish that i found in my tank with rocks so larger fish could not get to it but now the dad seems kind of angry and a lot of fish are swimming around there, are they trying to eat it, or get food near it, or are they being paternal?
May not sound like an emergency but, I'm definately a little scared for my little baby fishy, and it seems kinda wierd now

Mbuna don't do much in the way of parenting once the fry are released, if any. Those fry will look tasty to all the fish, including daddy.

Try putting some fry-hideout grass in the darker corners of the tank so some of the fry can survive long enough to gain size.

wow exiled have heard from you in a while,

but unfortunately I only have one, he's has a nice little rock that only he can fit under and I made him a cave so no bigger fishes can get in
