Ok I have finnaly got swordie fry!!! I am so excited cause this is my first set of swordie fry. I am almost positive they are swords cause they have peach coloration now they could be platie fry cause I have marigold platies which sadly only one is still living and a couple swordie marigolds which all of them have died cause of damn petsmart. I am almost positive they are pineapple babies cause I have had a trio for almost a month now so if anyone can help me out on identifying.

I would love to help, but i have never kept swordtails never mind had there fry, hope it is a swordtail.

Swordy fry are bigger than platy fry. I am not sure if this helps you at all. I have swordies, platies and guppies, I have 3 fry captured at the moment and i have no idea what thy are. I am thinking they are too big for guppy fry but its hard to tell.

Well I am confused cause these are not that big but they are peach colored and all of my guppy fry are grey at first!

Good chance - swordie fry color up very quickly. Mine usually have a hint of color when first born if they are marigolds or pineapples. The marigolds and the reds usually darken up very quickly, the pineapples tend to stay a pale almost translucent yellow for a few weeks. The blacks are usually born looking mottled and then fill in over the course of a few days. Hope that helps!

p.s. The neons are usually grayish when born and don't start getting any color for several weeks.

Sadly it is only one fry but I hope he makes it.
