Can Platty's abort their pregnancies?

Hi All- My female platy has been getting larger and larger day by day, with a large gravid spot, but yesterday I noticed the her gravid spot had disappeared. Is this possible? I know she didn't have the babies. But i am worried that a sudden drop in tank temperature ended up stressing her out too much. Do you think she aborted her babies?

I had a guppy abort her babies no long ago. I placed the female in another tank but this stressed her out so much that she aborted all her fri. Some fri survived but most died because they still had large egg sacks.
