Can plants grow on rocks?

I have a DIY cave made out of slabe of slate, and I'd love to have a kind of carpet on the topmost rock.

Are there any plants that can attach themselves to rock?

Java Moss, Java Fern and Riccia. You fix them in place with elastic bands and wire or a hair net for the Riccia

also anubias and african water fern . They both grow kind of slow compared to the above .
