I've got 2 molly fry. That's all that was left
Anyway, i've had them in their trap that I made and they've grown to about 3 or 4mm in width and 1/2" long approx. Are they big enough to go in my five gallon with the female platties and halequin. I don't think they'd fit in their mouths but someone said they'd get chased and 'nibbled.'

SO would it be safe to put them in my 5g yet? I feel mean keeping them in the little trap

:) You can release the molly fry as long as they are bigger than the fish's mouth. Just have a net nearby in case something happens and watch them for a few minutes. My black molly fry were a little over half an inch when I released her into my main tank and there were no problems. She was two months old and grew faster than my guppies! The first thing she did was explore! Good luck!

I think it would be ok too, I let mine go 'free' awhile ago w/ no problems, they are around the size of my neon tetras now. Just be sure to watch them for a bit to make sure everything is ok, and it never hurts to add a hiding place or two.

I let them go into the 5g with the others. They seem to be fine, it's been about 24hours now. THey're just hiding in the java moss. I think they'll find food there wont they. Theres algae growing on it and i read a post that said that java moss provides natural microscopic food for the fry.

Thanks for your help. :D
