Hi there, just wondering really, but a few days ago I added some cherry barbs to my tank. I noticed that 2 had quite badly nipped tails so I put in some melafix as it is reccomended for that type of injury. However, the next day I noticed my favourite plant (Im not sure what species of plant it was) was beginning to shrivell and disintergrate! I have since taken the plant out and have had to bin it, at there was hardly anything left of it anyway, my levels were all fine as I tested them as I took out the plant, did a water change and added a new one.
The plant was kind of like this one: http://www.birstall.co.uk/products/wnr142.html but very bright green, with more leaves of a smaller size.
My other two plants are fine and dont seem to have been affected.
Thanks, Amy.

I personally havent had any problems with plants and Melafix, most meds are totally safe with plants nowadays, but it may have caused it, Has anything else changed in your tank recently, with the likes of the lighting, fertilisers or water changes, how long have you had the plant?

All Crypts tend to go through this melting stage (crypt melt) when conditions in the water change such as being put in a new tank, but they always recover, its happened with pretty much every crypt I own.. Go get it out of the bin quick, although it may be a bit late now lol.
